“T’weren’t like this during the war”, Mabel quipped, setting the teabags down again. She shuffled over to the off-license, audibly rustling as she gripped her packet of Skips tighter than even her grasp on reality. A confused young man tied her dog to the shop’s security gate, having removed the leash from his bike spokes as he went to leave for home. Mabel looked...

Dorothy’s coffee cup trembled now, and her vein appeared as her brow furrowed. “How dare she call me ma’am… I’m forty two!”. She steadied herself as she stood up, plotted her course to the ensuite and made herself sick. Untying her hair and wiping her mouth on the pink guest towels - happy now - she decided to book a table for herself somewhere in the city....

It was a warm Summer’s day in some beautifully expensive part of Dublin, and Danii and Frederick had just finished having sandy sex on a secluded part of a spotless beach. “Would you like another watercress sandwich, Danii?”, Fred queried. “No, I am leaving you”, came her indifferent reply. “Miriam has heart cancer, and now so does our relationship”. The...
Right now I am in the process of creating a new Facebook profile for myself, because I’ve been bitten by Timeline. I have been on Facebook for about 5 years and it is too much to go through every post and hide or disguise or delete anything I see that I don’t want to be in my present life. When I started on Facebook it was a mess. It’s grown up along with me, but I don’t go...
Does anybody out there know of any video editing software that is better than Windows Movie Maker and lasts longer than VideoPad? If you help, you will get to see a nice video in 11 months time. Anyone?
Beth was there to meet me at Aachen Hauptbahnhof, and no sooner had I got off the train than I was on a bus apparently headed to Heerlen, The Netherlands. I handed the driver a €20 note because I didn’t have any change, and he took pleasure in giving me about €15 back in €2 coins. Which is his right. I didn’t mind though because I like €2 coins. We were going to the nearest IKEA, which...
Shopping in Kaufland
I have now been to The Netherlands. Story to come.

One second videos are coming along great. Windows Movie Maker tried to sabotage my 1 second clips but I kept the original footage and all is well. Now I need to find good editing freeware.

It’s ambitious, but I plan on making a one second video every day. Something interesting about the day, something uninteresting, anything I can find or do or capture. I might put them up here, maybe week by week or month my month. The goal is a year in the end, but the immediate goal has to be a week, then I’ll see what 7 seconds of my life looks like. The first video is me staring...

Eoghan Gets Fit
http://eoghangetsfit.tumblr.com/
I am unfit. Haven’t exercised regularly in 18 months and have gained almost 2 stone in that time. This is the first “public” effort to get fit, and thanks to Tumblr, will hopefully be something I regularly monitor.
I want followers.
I want people hassling me and asking me questions.
I’m on day 3 now, and I hope it’ll last a long...

I had a silent conversation today
I got back from Berlin this afternoon, and instead of waiting for a tram to take me directly home, I decided to jump on an U-bahn so I’d have 2 or 3 minutes less waiting time. These are the liberties that Frankfurt allows me, and I take them when I can. I got to Bockenheimer Warte and waited for the tram that I had raced with my U-bahn. While I was waiting, a pidgeon was bobbing along the...
Aragorn: We will not abandon Merry and Pippin to torment and death. Not while we have strength left. Leave all that can be spared behind. We travel light. Let’s hunt some Orc.
gandalfthegleek:
Aragorn - Nobody protects you like Aragorn
Legolas - He seems so swift and fast and I like that he uses a ranged weapon and also double-wields, he seems like good protection also
Boromir - Though he did try to take the ring, he did die for the two halflings that didn’t even have the ring, proving himself and proving that though men are weak there is still honour in...
I am going to write better things here.
Tumblr used to talk
Tumblr used to talk. This is an old blog by Tumblr’s standards, and people I knew and didn’t know used to talk to me and to each other here. It was easy to find Irish Tumblr users then, if I can mention Tumblarity for a second. But now it’s less of a community, though much bigger in number. Most of my followers that used to talk to each other here don’t blog anymore, and...
I watched the first two movies, then tried to read The Fellowship of the Ring but gave up quite early on. I was quite young and the book was quite long. I don’t think that I can read the books now because I love the films so much. Like seeing the film, the book you read first is always better, and I think it’s so well made that I wouldn’t like reading the books differences....
There are often notes left for me in the morning, but I don’t think I’ve ever appreciated any as much as “VINEGAR IN KETTLE”
