Tumblr used to talk
Tumblr used to talk. This is an old blog by Tumblr’s standards, and people I knew and didn’t know used to talk to me and to each other here. It was easy to find Irish Tumblr users then, if I can mention Tumblarity for a second. But now it’s less of a community, though much bigger in number. Most of my followers that used to talk to each other here don’t blog anymore, and the newer one’s don’t talk. I accept that people may not want to talk to me or anyone else, that a blog is quite personal and so people like to maintain a distance. I rarely if ever use my full name and do not post pictures of myself very often, only recently changing my avatar. This kept us all at a nice distance. But what’s a blog and who are followers if you value them only as a number? Put something in a follower’s Ask box, reply to one of their posts. Tumblr used to talk. Remember?
